How to Make a Pandacorn Panda Unicorn Valentine Box

Supplies

• Cube-shaped box
• White wrapping paper
• Translucent tape
• FREE PRINTABLE PANDACORN PATTERN
• 3 sheets white cardstock
• 1 sheet black cardstock
• Scissors
• Glue dot roller or glue stick
• Glue (any craft glue or hot glue)
• Optional: Markers, colored pencils, paint etc to decorate wings and horn

Directions

Panda Unicorn Valentine Box Step 1: 

Find a box you would like to use to make your unicorn valentine box. I think a square/cube box looks best.

Cut a hole in the top of the box to serve as a slot for the cards.

Wrap the box in plain white wrapping paper.

Use scissors to cut a hole in the wrapping paper where the card slot is.

Fold the flaps to the inside of the hole and secure with tape.

Panda Unicorn Valentine Box Step 2: 

Download the FREE PRINTABLE PANDICORN PATTERN. 

Print pages 1-3 on white cardstock and page 4 onto black cardstock.

It seems anti-intuitive to print with black ink onto black cardstock but you really can see it!

FUN ALTERNATIVE: Instead of printing pages 1-3 onto white cardstock that you decorate, try printing onto a patterned or printed cardstock instead. I think this project would look pretty with a watercolor style paper.

Panda Unicorn Valentine Box Step 3: 

Decorate the unicorn horn, wings and panda eye patches as desired.

For my sample pandicorn, I painted a sheer coat of Colorshift paint in aqua flash and a coat of blue Glitterific paint on the wings.

For the horn, I did a sheer gold paint from the Martha Stewart acrylic line and gold Glitterific paint.

You could color yours with watercolor, markers, colored pencils and more - the sky's the limit!

Panda Unicorn Valentine Box Step 4: 

Once any paint or decoration you added to your pages is dry, cut out the pieces. The pieces are designed to be cut on the inside of the black line for a more professional look.

Panda Unicorn Valentine Box Step 5: 

Fold back the ears on the printed fold line. Fold the tab part of the wings back as well.

Using a glue dot roller or a glue stick, glue the pieces together or to the box using the finished project photo as a guide.

Panda Unicorn Valentine Box Step 6: 

Roll the cut out horn piece into a cone, matching up the swirl lines. Glue or tape the horn together and glue to the top of the box.
