Step 2:
As you can see above, some of the ends are a little scraggly thanks to the saw blade. I used my trusty mouse sander to make everything smooth. It took above five minutes.
Pardon the sawdust. This is a messy activity. Wear your eye protection.
Step 3:
Time to assemble! I made little marks with my pen where I wanted the screws to go. Some people get fast and loose with this part, but it makes me twitchy when things don't line up.
Make a wood sandwich with a 16" piece on the bottom, the two 6" pieces in the middle, and the second 16" slice on top. This part is possible to do on your own, but I found it easier with a buddy. I kept the wood aligned while my husband did the drilling.
