Step 8: Finish the Top
Use little scissors to snip one of the back pockets off.
Center the pocket on the top of the apron, pin down and stitch around the edges, leaving the top open.
Fold up the bottom half inch of the apron top toward the right side and stitch across.

I really love this project, but I have to say the constant pop-ups on the page, and the having to go page by page by page to get all the instructions will keep me from coming back to your site. i realize that is great for your pageviews, but its not so good for readers. Great little apron design, though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know, Glynda. Because this tutorial is longer than most, I broke it up to make it easier to navigate. Most tutorials are not nearly so long and out of more than 600 articles and tutorials, less than 20 are broken into multi-page posts. I hope you'll give my site a second chance.
DeleteI wish there was a video for this the pop ups are very discouraging I will try to memorize this I can't try to follow this and sew at the same time.thank you for the idea I love this!
DeleteThat's a great suggestion, Rebeca. I'm hoping to have the printable version available this summer.
DeleteI agree with Glynda...cute but when i SEW I don't look page to page I print it off and have it right beside me to make notes etc... thanks for sharing though
ReplyDeleteI'm working on a printable version that I hope to have available this summer!
DeleteYes, a printable vs. on one or two pages would be nice.....but.........it's a small sacrifice to click through the pages....such a wonder idea and lots of work for you to do these postings.....thank you..........thank you for sharing...(I knew I should have kept that pair of torn jeans I threw away last week!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet words, Claradene! I am still planning to do the printable although I signed a contract to write a book so the timing on making the printable got pushed out but I'm hoping to have it to offer once my manuscript is turned in.
DeleteI agree with others' comments that breaking up the tutorial over multiple pages was a bit frustrating. I have read other sewing tutorials that were at least this complicated that were kept all on one page.
ReplyDeleteHi, Dineen.
ReplyDeleteSince originally creating this post, I have partnered with a professional pattern maker to make this pattern into a printable PDF that has professional pattern illustrations and which is easy to follow along with.
